This Cookie Policy explains how MyPantry AI uses cookies and similar technologies on My Pantry AI. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy. If any term is not defined here it has the meaning given in the Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They allow websites to remember you between visits (or between page loads) so that you don’t have to re-authenticate on every request. In this Policy we also refer to similar browser storage such as localStorage.

2. Cookies we use

2.1 Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off.

session_token — HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=None cookie set after you sign in with Google. Purpose: keep you authenticated. Expiry: 7 days. Set by: our backend on mypantryai.com.au. This is the only session mechanism — we removed all bearer-token fallbacks for hardening.

2.2 Functional (browser storage)

We do not store any first-party cookies for tracking or personalisation. Only the essential authentication cookies listed above are set by our servers.

2.3 Third-party cookies

When you interact with an embedded payment button we allow the following providers to load their own cookies and storage strictly for payment functionality:

Stripe — sets cookies on stripe.com when the Stripe Checkout popup opens. See Stripe’s Cookie Policy.
PayPal — sets cookies on paypal.com when the PayPal Smart Buttons SDK loads on our Pricing page. See PayPal’s Cookie Statement.

These providers are contract-bound data processors used to complete a purchase you initiated; they are considered strictly necessary for the payment feature.

3. What we do NOT use

We do not use advertising cookies.
We do not use cross-site tracking.
We do not use behavioural analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
We do not sell or share cookie data for advertising purposes as defined under CCPA/CPRA.

4. Your choices

Because we only use strictly-necessary cookies plus one local functional value, we do not display a cookie consent banner (per ePrivacy Directive and the Australian Privacy Act, strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent). If you would like to disable the session cookie you can:

Sign out of My Pantry AI — this deletes the cookie server-side and clears it from your browser.
Block cookies from mypantryai.com.au in your browser settings — but you will not be able to sign in.
Clear localStorage for mypantryai.com.au to reset your saved currency.

5. Changes

If we introduce new cookies (for example if we later add optional analytics), we will update this Policy and, where required, ask you for opt-in consent first via an in-app banner.
