Terms of Service
Effective: 24 February 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the My Pantry AI service operated by MyPantry AI (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (and at least 16 if you are in the EU/EEA/UK, per GDPR). By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements and that you can enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.
2. The Service
My Pantry AI lets you track pantry items, generate AI meal suggestions (single-generation and weekly plans), scan food and barcodes with AI, and save favourite meals. Features and quotas are described on our Pricing page. We may change, add or remove features and quotas at any time; material changes will be communicated in advance where practical.
3. Accounts
- You sign in via Google (Emergent-managed). You are responsible for the security of that Google account.
- One person per account. Do not share credentials.
- You must give truthful information and keep it up to date.
4. Free tier and Premium subscription
- Free tier — subject to the limits shown on the Pricing page (currently: up to 20 pantry items, 2 meals per generation, 3 saved favourites).
- Premium — a recurring subscription (currently AUD 7.99 per month at the default currency, priced in your local currency where PayPal supports it). Premium unlocks unlimited pantry, 6 meals per generation, weekly plans, AI ingredient substitutes, expiry & low-stock tracking, unlimited favourites, meal history, and the AI Food Scanner.
- Billing — subscriptions renew automatically at the interval and price shown at checkout until you cancel. Prices are inclusive of GST/VAT where required by law.
- Cancellation — you can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal (accessible via the app’s account menu) or from your PayPal account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months except where required by law (see §5).
- Failed payment — if a payment fails we may retry, notify you, and suspend Premium features until the payment is resolved.
- Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. Their own terms and privacy notices also apply.
5. Refunds and Australian Consumer Law
Our Service comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Service repaired or replaced if it fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Outside of those statutory rights we do not provide refunds for subscription fees already paid.
6. AI-generated content
My Pantry AI uses third-party large-language and image-generation models to create meal suggestions, recipe steps, ingredient substitutes and illustrative images. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe for people with allergies, dietary requirements or health conditions, or otherwise unsuitable. AI output is not medical or nutritional advice. You are solely responsible for verifying ingredients, checking allergens, and ensuring anything you cook or consume is safe and appropriate for you.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, scrape or abuse the Service or its APIs;
- submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory or harmful content (including via the food scanner);
- submit images of people or private property without consent;
- attempt to circumvent quotas, rate limits or payment;
- use the Service to generate content that violates the acceptable-use policies of Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Stripe or PayPal;
- resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, brand names and marks, are owned by MyPantry AI or its licensors. You retain ownership of the content you input (pantry items, scan images). By submitting content you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you.
9. Disclaimers
Except as required by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that meal suggestions are safe for your dietary needs or that AI output is accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law and subject to §5 (Australian Consumer Law), our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) AUD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting info@mypantryai.com.au. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we are required to by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will do so.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will give you reasonable prior notice by in-app banner or email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the change constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Subject to any non-excludable statutory rights, the courts of Australia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
